“Eeram”, a supernatural thriller by “debutant Director Arivazhagan” and produced by director “Shankar” has given a different outlook to Kollywood movies. This unusual concept has never been tried in the history of Tamil movies though considered to be a common one in Hollywood.
Well, when it comes to story as I have already mentioned this is an unusual and a different concept that Arivazhagan had ventured into his debut movie. And it eventually clicked. The whole plot revolves around the investigation of the death of Ramya (Sindhu Menon) by DSP Vasudevan (Aadhi), Ex-Boyfriend of Ramya. Meanwhile the plot flips between past and the present that forms the essence of the movie.
Ramya, wife of Bala (Nandha) is found dead in a Bath Tub at her apartment leaving a note stating that she is purely responsible for her death. Now this makes DSP Vasudevan to take up the case and he starts investigating to the neighborhoods. However, a series of mysterious murders unfolds at the apartment in a similar fashion that disturbs him and leads to too many confusion and suspects.
But Vasu is determined not to rest until he finds the murderer. The plot takes a twist in the second half when he understands the fact that the murderer’s only weapon is “H2O” ( Water).
Divya (Saranya Mohan) who plays the role of Ramya’s sister has given an outstanding performance when compared to her other movies. Sindhu Menon has also done justice to her role in her Debut entry in Kollywood. Aadhi has totally involved himself into the character and has done it effortlessly.
Hat’s Off! to the director for bringing in such an unusual concept in Kollywood.Music by “Thaman” simply fits into the theme and concept of Eeram. Cinematography and the graphics used are simply awesome. No doubt portraits the class of Shankar’s movie.
Final Verdict: Eeram, a spine chilling thriller that is worth watching.
